Birth of an Ice Queen
His words are like shards of glass
Shot with a spray gun right into her chest
It becomes a grisly, knobbled claw of hate and despair
Reaches in through the shreds of her pride and dignity
Clamps on her heart, squeezes
A dull heavy pressure
It’s hard to breathe
Graduates to a throbbing agonizing pain
The heart is crudely yanked out
Brushing past the tendons of commitment
The muscles of loyalty
The fat of history
The vessels of love
Dull eyes water
The fading organ is slammed to the ground
Stamped into pieces
Ice crackles
A slow veneer grows
Covers the gaping hole
Emotions glaze over
The gel is set
The ice queen is born.
